December 19, 2025. The Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency in Seville and the Civil Guard, in a joint operation, have proceeded to dismantle five marijuana cultivation centers in the town of El Rubio (Seville) in two operations carried out in November that began as a result of complaints from neighbors alerting them to the strong smells coming from the properties under investigation.
The first operation took place on November 6, when a search was carried out in a warehouse in the Seville town and 146 plants in different stages of growth were seized. The person responsible for the plantation was arrested during the operation.
The second operation took place on November 26, with four house searches in the same town, where 3,700 marijuana plants in different stages of flowering were seized and five individuals related to the investigated events were arrested.
In addition, illegal connections to the electrical grid were detected in both operations, so the detainees are charged with crimes of electricity fraud as well as drug trafficking.
The seized items, as well as the detainees, all residents of El Rubio, have been placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
The operation was carried out by the Operational Unit of the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency in Seville, together with the Territorial Unit of the Judicial Police of the Civil Guard Company of Osuna.
