Two arrested with six kilos of cocaine at Valencia airport

  • The people were arrested when, while passing their luggage through the scanner, the investigators noticed several plates that could contain narcotic substances.

June 10, 2025.- The Regional Customs Office of the Tax Agency in Valencia and the Civil Guard, under the authority of the Administrator of Customs and Special Administrative Procedures. The Tax Agency has arrested two people from a Swiss flight originating in Brazil as they tried to smuggle 6.25 kilos of cocaine into their luggage.

Civil Guard officers identified two passengers who were arriving from a flight from Switzerland, but who were departing from Brazil. They each carried a suitcase and, when questioned, said they had come to the city on vacation and had nothing to declare.

Following standard procedure, the X-ray scanner examined his luggage, revealing compact plates or sheets of organic matter that could be consistent with the presence of narcotic substances.

The luggage was opened in the presence of its owners and found to contain clothing and personal belongings, but when it was emptied completely, it was found that the suitcases were much heavier than usual. Once empty, they are scanned again to identify a false bottom, revealing two packages of a compact substance.

A puncture was made in the base of both pieces of luggage, revealing a white powder that, after being tested, yielded a positive result for cocaine. The total weight of the discovered substance amounts to 6.25 kilos.

Two Brazilians, a man and a woman, have been arrested for these incidents. They are charged with a crime against public health.

The operations were carried out by the Regional Customs Unit of the Tax Agency in Valencia and the Tax and Border Section of the Civil Guard at Valencia Airport, under the supervision of the Administrator of Customs and Foreign Affairs. of the Tax Agency.

The proceedings were handed over to the Court of First Instance and Investigation No. 3 of Quart de Poblet.
