More than 600 contraband cigars seized in La Farga de Moles

  • The merchandise was located by the Customs Fiscal Guard inside a vehicle coming from Andorra

  • As a result of the intervention, a person was arrested for the alleged crime of smuggling.

June 12, 2025.- The Tax Agency and the Civil Guard of the Fiscal Reserve, under the direction of the Administrator of Customs and Foreign Affairs. On June 7, the Tax Agency in Farga de Moles seized 605 high-quality cigars, valued at €15,215, and initiated proceedings for the alleged crime of smuggling.

The intervention took place at around 2:30 p.m., when a Nissan vehicle entered the Farga de Moles Customs Office from Andorra via the green lane (nothing to declare).

After conducting a visual inspection, Civil Guard officers observed a suitcase in the back containing 605 cigars.

After inspecting the merchandise seized by the agents, the Tax Agency Technician proceeded to initiate proceedings for the alleged commission of a smuggling offense. The driver of the vehicle was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of the alleged crime, and the seized merchandise remained in the possession of the Civil Guard, at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.

This action falls within the scope of the Fiscal Protection Office's fiscal responsibilities, exercising the functions and actions aimed at preventing and prosecuting smuggling, drug trafficking, fraud, and other fiscal crimes/infractions.
