A drug shipment from Thailand was intercepted at Seville airport.

June 12, 2025.- The Tax Agency's Customs Surveillance Service, in collaboration with the Civil Guard, has arrested a person suspected of drug trafficking after intercepting a shipment of Thai cannabis hidden in packages of dehydrated food.

The investigation began after the detection of a shipment from Thailand, destined for Fuengirola (Málaga). Upon inspection of the merchandise, 128 trays of dehydrated food were found, each containing small bags containing flowering tops of cannabis, weighing a total of 6.5 kilos.

After confirming the nature of the substance, agents from both agencies prepared a device to carry out a controlled delivery of the shipment and identify the recipients. The operation culminated in the town of Fuengirola with the arrest of one person and the investigation of another. The seized substance has been sent to the Foreign Health Department for analysis.

The operation was carried out as part of a joint operation between the Operational Unit of the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency in Seville and the Fiscal and Border Analysis and Investigation Unit (UDAIF) of the Civil Guard at Seville Airport.
