  • An individual has been arrested while transporting counterfeits from the island of Tenerife in his van.

  • The merchandise would be valued at 100,000 euros

June 19, 2025.- The Tax Agency's Customs Surveillance Operational Unit in Las Palmas and the Investigation Group of the Canary Islands Police Force have seized 850 counterfeit sports uniforms in the port of Agaete (Gran Canaria), valued at €100,000.

The operation began with a joint investigation by both forces in May 2025, when it was discovered that an individual selling counterfeit products at the Jinamar market was transporting them from Tenerife.

For this reason, a control was established at the port of Agaete. Once the suspect entered the port in his van, he was identified and found to be carrying 850 counterfeit sports jerseys from well-known brands, valued at approximately €100,000.

This individual was immediately arrested for an alleged crime against industrial property. He was later released after being informed of his rights and giving a statement accompanied by his lawyer.

The operation resulted in the seizure of 850 counterfeit sports uniforms, as well as €1,798 worth of items they were carrying.
