There are three people arrested for crimes against public health.
June 3, 2025.- Customs Surveillance officers from the Tax Agency, in collaboration with the Civil Guard, through the Fiscal and Border Analysis and Investigation Unit (UDAIF) of the Port of Palma, integrated into the Risk Analysis Unit (UAR) of the Balearic Islands, have conducted two investigations that have resulted in the seizure of a total of 3.6 kilos of hashish and the arrest of three people for crimes against public health.
As part of a routine inspection at a parcel delivery company based on the island of Mallorca, investigators from both agencies inspected a suspicious shipment. The drug-sniffing dog flagged a package containing 10 vacuum-packed tablets, totaling 969 grams of a brown organic substance. After the seizure, a drug test was performed, confirming the presence of hashish.
As a result of this discovery, a joint investigation was launched, which led to the identification and subsequent arrest of an individual in Palma, the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health, who was then brought before a court.
Continuing with the inspection work, a new joint operation was carried out at another parcel and delivery company. During the police operation, a package was identified that appeared to contain illicit substances, due to its packaging characteristics and the information on the label. It was then subjected to an X-ray scan, the analysis of which confirmed the presence of suspicious material inside.
After opening the vehicle, a total of 2.64 kilos of hashish were found, divided into 37 vacuum-packed tablets, along with six additional portions of the same substance. The results were confirmed by drug tests.
As a result of this second investigation, two people were arrested in the Inca judicial district and subsequently brought before a court.
The investigation remains open, and further arrests are not ruled out in the coming days.
