November 12, 2025. Officials from the Customs Surveillance Operational Unit of the Tax Agency in Tenerife, together with agents of the Civil Guard belonging to the Fiscal and Border Analysis and Investigation Unit (Udaiff) of the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, have arrested a person in Tenerife upon the arrival of a ship from Gran Canaria when he was carrying 31 kilos of hashish in his vehicle.
As a result of the control operation carried out in the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, a man driving a car was identified who aroused the suspicions of the agents. After conducting an interview with him, his nervousness and inconsistencies in his answers could be observed. In addition, a strong smell of cannabis substances was emanating from inside the vehicle.
After inspecting the vehicle, packages were found in the trunk containing what appeared to be some type of narcotic substance. The drug test came back positive for hashish, weighing more than 31 kilos, so the driver of the vehicle was arrested.
The detainee, along with the proceedings carried out, has been sent to the competent Judicial Authority.
