Ten arrested in a blow to drug trafficking logistics in Caño de Sancti Petri (Cádiz)

November 19, 2025. Officials from the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency and members of the Civil Guard, in a joint operation, have carried out an operation against the logistical structures of drug trafficking criminal organizations in the province of Cadiz.
Operations by the Combined Unit of Cádiz Customs Surveillance and the Civil Guard of Chiclana de la Frontera, supported by the SIVE of Cádiz and with air and sea resources of Customs Surveillance, on the 18th, arrested ten people and seized two 'petaqueras' boats, each equipped with an engine, loaded with a total of 2,600 liters of fuel in jerrycans, common in the illegal supply of smuggling boats. Both the detainees and the seized items have been handed over to the courts.
The investigations are ongoing and further arrests are not ruled out.
These actions have been the result of a joint and coordinated effort by the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency and the Civil Guard.
The handling, transport, possession or marketing of flammable substances in contravention of established safety regulations and endangering the life, physical integrity or health of people, or the environment, may constitute the commission of crimes typified in the Penal Code in its articles 348 and 568; with prison sentences of up to eight years.
