November 21, 2025. The Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency and the Civil Guard, in two joint operations, have arrested two individuals as alleged perpetrators of drug trafficking offenses, after intercepting several shipments of narcotics that originated in the town of San Pedro de Alcántara (Málaga) and were destined for China and different regions of France. Despite the common origin, no links have been detected between the two operations.
The first investigation began in March after the detection, in a courier company in Seville, of five shipments in which different quantities of marijuana buds were seized. As a result of this arrest, different steps were taken which led to the identification of the perpetrators, both foreign citizens residing in San Pedro de Alcántara.
In July and August, investigators intercepted four new shipments, this time containing cocaine and hashish. Following these interventions, the investigators were able to determine the location where the shipments were prepared.
Once the evidence had been gathered, the Court of Instruction No. 1 of Marbella authorized the entry and search of the property used as a warehouse by the suspects, where the main person responsible for the organization was arrested and another individual was investigated.
Throughout the operation, 21 kilos of marijuana, 1.2 kilos of cocaine and 26.5 kilos of hashish were seized. In addition, two handguns and 15,000 euros in cash were seized. The seized items and the detainee have been placed at the disposal of the court, which has ordered his provisional imprisonment.
Figure created with MDMA
The second operation began after a parcel risk analysis was carried out at Seville's San Pablo Airport, which raised the suspicions of investigators when they detected a parcel shipment originating from the province of Malaga, destined for China, and declared in the export declaration as a "baby toy". Furthermore, investigators suspected that China was the destination of the shipment, as it is one of the largest exporters of this type of merchandise and is not a regular recipient of these products.
The investigators carried out the inspection with 'x-rays' and observed that the package contained, in addition to the toy, a figure that did not correspond to what was declared. After performing different 'narcotest' tests on the various elements found inside the package, the mass that formed the figure tested positive for MDMA/'ecstasy'. The total weight of the drug was 480 grams, which would have an estimated value of 18,000 euros.
In the subsequent investigation, the sender of the shipment, a man of Ukrainian origin and with Spanish nationality, was identified and located in the same town of San Pedro de Alcántara (Málaga), and he was subsequently arrested as the perpetrator of a drug trafficking offense. Investigators rule out any connection between those arrested in the two operations.
Both operations, carried out by the Seville Operational Unit of Customs Surveillance of the Tax Agency and the Fiscal and Border Analysis and Investigation Unit (Udaiff) of the Civil Guard of the Seville Airport, are part of the plans to fight against drug trafficking and permanent collaboration between the Tax Agency and the Civil Guard.
