An organization dedicated to distributing marijuana to European countries has been dismantled in Seville.

  • Nine people arrested for drug trafficking, illegal weapons possession, and membership in a criminal organization

  • More than 3,000 plants and 380 kilos of buds were seized.

October 1, 2025.- The Tax Agency's Customs Surveillance Service in Seville, in a joint operation with the Civil Guard, has arrested nine people on suspicion of drug trafficking, illegal weapons possession, and belonging to a criminal organization that produced marijuana and distributed it to other organizations for sale in various European countries.

The investigation began after becoming aware of a group of people based in the town of Osuna (Seville) who controlled a large number of marijuana plantations. Once the plantation reached the optimal size, they were responsible for harvesting the buds, dosing them, and selling them to other organizations in European countries.

During the investigation, a warehouse was located in the town of Osuna, which was used as a drug warehouse and as a staging point for trucks for transport.

Last December, a truck was detected loading into this warehouse, concealing 380 kilos of vacuum-packed marijuana buds.

Operational phase

In the following months, numerous surveillance and follow-up actions were carried out on the suspects, which led to the identification of different locations used for the cultivation, storage, and preparation of marijuana for subsequent distribution.

In early July, the operation was carried out with nine house searches authorized by the Investigating Court No. 2 of Osuna.

As a result of the searches carried out, more than 3,000 marijuana plants in different stages of growth, two firearms, and cash were seized.

The investigation continued into the months following the operation, linking four more people to the events, who appeared before the court responsible for the case.

The operation was carried out by the Operational Unit of the Tax Agency's Customs Surveillance Service in Seville, together with the Territorial Unit of the Judicial Police of the Civil Guard Company of Osuna and the Organized Crime and Anti-Drug Teams (EDOA) of Seville and Alicante.
