A person arrested in Tenerife while carrying more than 90 kilos of cocaine in his vehicle

The cocaine was hidden under the trunk floor, in sealed packages.
September 19, 2025.- Customs Surveillance officers from the Tax Agency, along with Civil Guard officers from the Fiscal and Border Analysis and Investigation Unit (UDAIFF) at the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, have arrested a person in Tenerife upon the arrival of a ship from Gran Canaria, carrying 90 kilos of cocaine in his vehicle.
As a result of the smuggling operation carried out at the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, a man was identified driving a large car. He aroused the suspicions of the officers involved after observing his nervousness and inconsistent responses.
After inspecting the interior of the vehicle, under the trunk floor, some packages were located that contained what appeared to be some type of narcotic substance. The drug test came back positive for cocaine, weighing 90.5 kilos, leading to the arrest of the vehicle's driver.
The detainee, along with the proceedings, have been forwarded to the competent judicial authority.
