852 kilos of hashish seized after being landed by a drug boat on the Algeciras beach of Cala Arena.

  • During the operation, two minors who were acting as 'surveillance points' for the criminal organization were arrested.

September 24, 2025.- Customs Surveillance officers from the Tax Agency, in a joint operation with National Police officers, seized 852 kilos of hashish landed by a drug boat on the Algeciras beach of Cala Arena. During the operation, two minors who were acting as "surveillance points" for the criminal organization were arrested.

Joint device in Cala Arena

At the end of August, agents detected the arrival of a semi-rigid boat at Cala Arena beach and the presence of a group of "couriers" who began unloading the drugs. Upon noticing the police presence, they fled on foot into the woods, hiding in the dense vegetation. Minutes later, in a difficult-to-access area near the Punta Carnero lighthouse, investigators located 21 burlap bales containing hashish with a gross weight of 852 kilos.

Within the security perimeter, officers intercepted two minors attempting to flee the area and, after verifying that they were acting as "surveillance points," arrested them for their alleged involvement in unloading the cargo.

Open investigation

The investigation remains open, with the goal of identifying the remaining members of the criminal network and proceeding with their arrest. Agents have confirmed that the organization employed minors in support roles and attempted to smuggle drugs into the country using semi-rigid boats for subsequent transport in cargo vehicles.
