130 kilos of cocaine hidden in a container from Brazil were seized at the port of Las Palmas.

  • The drug, which would have a value on the black market of more than 3,500,000 euros, was hidden among packages of frozen meat.

September 25, 2025.- The Tax Agency and the National Police have seized 130 kilos of cocaine hidden in a container from Brazil at the port of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The seized narcotic substance was reportedly valued at more than €3,500,000 after its sale on the illegal market.

The operation took place on September 22, when Customs Surveillance officers from the Canary Islands Tax Agency, with the participation of the National Police, detected the drugs while conducting a physical inspection at the Port Inspection Center on a container from Paranagua, Brazil, bound for Tenerife.

Once the physical inspection began, marked boxes were observed at the back of the container. Inside, along with the meat, 107 packages of a substance that tested positive for cocaine were found.

From that moment on, the narcotic substance was seized and the facts were reported to the Duty Court of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
