September 26, 2025.- Customs officers from the Tax Agency, along with Civil Guard officers from the Tax and Border Analysis and Investigation Unit (UDAIF) at Tenerife South Airport, have arrested a 48-year-old man in Tenerife upon arrival from a flight from Brussels, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health, in the form of drug trafficking.

During the constant analysis of flights carried out at Tenerife South Airport upon arrival, the accused aroused the suspicions of the agents due to his nervous attitude while waiting for his luggage to leave the facility, which is why the agents decided to carry out an exhaustive inspection of his suitcase, finding inside a total of 38 packages containing a total of 21,565 grams of marijuana buds, according to the result of the 'narcotest' carried out on a sample of the substance.

The detainee, along with the seized substance and the proceedings, was handed over to the competent judicial authority, which ordered his provisional detention without bail.
