72 kilos of hashish and three kilos of cocaine seized in a parcel shipment in Palma

  • A 41-year-old man, a resident of Palma, has been arrested for drug trafficking.

April 23, 2026. Officials from the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency and Civil Guard officers from the Fiscal and Border Analysis and Investigation Unit (Udaiff) of the port of Palma, have seized 72 kilos of hashish and three kilos of cocaine in a parcel shipment in Palma and have arrested a man for a drug trafficking offense.

The proceedings began on April 11, when investigators from Customs Surveillance and the Civil Guard, during a routine check carried out at a logistics operator, dedicated to the distribution of goods and parcels in a warehouse in an industrial park in Palma de Mallorca, detected a suspicious shipment, which was subjected to inspection.

The inspection revealed 72 kilos of hashish resin and three kilos of cocaine inside the package.

Subsequently, the agents initiated an investigation and carried out the appropriate procedures for the identification, location and arrest of the recipient of the shipment. Thus, on April 15, a 41-year-old man, residing in the town of Palma, was arrested for a drug trafficking offense.

As part of the fight against drug trafficking, Customs Surveillance officials from the Tax Agency and agents from the Fiscal and Border Analysis and Investigation Unit of the Port of Palma of the Civil Guard aim to act on possible routes of introduction of narcotic substances hidden in goods destined for the Balearic Islands.

These routes are used by both criminal organizations and small-time drug dealers who operate individually and independently, using different social networks to sell narcotics. Once a sale is agreed upon, they make shipments with small quantities, hiding the substances among clothing, food, and other items, using false identities in these shipments to avoid possible police action.
