January 14, 2026. Customs Surveillance officials from the Tax Agency and agents of the Civil Guard, within the framework of operation 'Lezna', have dismantled an organization in the province of A Coruña that was dedicated to the sale of cocaine and hashish with the support of a well-known clan from Ferrol. As part of this operation, five people have been arrested on charges of drug trafficking and belonging to a criminal organization, and 31 kilos of cocaine, 135 kilos of hashish, smaller quantities of marijuana and ketamine, weapons, vehicles and cash have been seized.
The investigation began in mid-2024 by the EDOA of the Civil Guard of A Coruña on a man, resident of the town of Oza-Cesuras, around whom various reports revolved regarding his connection to drug trafficking. The suspect, who maintained a high standard of living without having any known work activity, owned high-end cars and motorcycles, and had numerous homes.
At the beginning of January 2025, thanks to the work carried out by Civil Guard patrols, a vehicle was seized in a routine check in the town of Porzomillos when it was carrying 5 kilos of cocaine and 10 of hashish. The driver, also a resident of Oza-Cesuras, was a known associate of the first person under investigation.
Meanwhile, the Regional Narcotics Information Group of the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency had an open investigation into the main suspect. After this fact was verified, the two bodies proceeded to coordinate and carry out the investigations jointly, developing Operation Lezna.
The investigation soon revealed that these residents of Oza-Cesuras were part of a criminal organization, divided into different factions. The branch located in Oza-Cesuras used up to three properties owned by the main suspect to store large quantities of drugs, as well as cash. On the other hand, they used a garage located in the city of A Coruña as a warehouse, where the person in charge of transporting drugs stored ketamine and a large amount of hashish.
The investigators confirmed that cocaine and hashish were being delivered from the town of Oza-Cesuras to different points in A Coruña and Arteixo. During the operation in January 2026, a cocaine and hashish sales point supplied by the criminal organization was dismantled in the latter location.
In mid-2025, the investigation made progress when one of the main leaders of a well-known criminal group in Ferrol, with a history of drug trafficking and possession of firearms, was identified in an operation. This individual, who owns several properties, was seen driving eight different vehicles in just four months.
The 'nursery flat' in Narón
The investigation revealed that this suspect was in charge of supplying the criminal organization, through a 'nursery apartment' located in Narón, where several automatic and semi-automatic firearms were stored, in addition to cocaine, hashish and cash. From this location, the criminal group supplied its drug sales points in Ferrol. This house provided the organization with a high level of security, given the difficulty of being linked to the clan's environment.
The investigation, overseen by the Civil and Instruction Section Number 2 of Betanzos, resulted in five arrests, four of whom have been placed in provisional detention after being brought before the court. In addition, an automatic submachine gun and five handguns, as well as 9mm ammunition, were seized in the town of Narón. Also seized were 31 kilos of cocaine, 135 kilos of hashish, smaller quantities of marijuana and ketamine, 85,000 euros, five cars and two motorcycles.
The operation has been carried out by the Regional Narcotics Information Group of Customs Surveillance of the Tax Agency in Galicia and by the EDOA (Organized Crime and Anti-Drug Team) of the Civil Guard Command of A Coruña.
