February 20, 2026. Officers from the Tax Agency, the National Police and the Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia have carried out Operation 'Cenador/Ordenanza', a joint investigation in the Murcian region of Vega Media that has resulted in the dismantling of a criminal organization based in Lorquí and Molina de Segura that supplied narcotics to other criminal groups with drug sales points. During the operation, investigators arrested five members of the criminal group, including its leader, and carried out five searches of properties in which they seized 75 kilos of cocaine, 14 kilos of marijuana, cash, firearms and other items related to drug trafficking.

The operation began ten months ago, when specialists from the three agencies began joint investigations into a group of people based in Lorquí and Molina de Segura, who were allegedly carrying out illicit activities related to drug trafficking.

Given the experience of the members of the investigated organization, the operational work of the operation proved difficult from the beginning, especially due to the security measures they adopted, the high economic level that facilitated the collaboration of other organizations, and the geographical area of influence.

Once all the necessary evidence had been obtained, the investigators designed the exploitation phase of the operation, in which more than one hundred officers from the three forces participated. This phase began with the simultaneous execution of five raids and searches on properties in the municipalities of Lorquí and Molina de Segura, in which five members of the criminal group were arrested, including its leader.

The detainees are accused of the alleged crimes of belonging to a criminal organization, against public health (in its form of drug trafficking), illegal possession of weapons, fraud of electricity, money laundering, against animals and related to the protection of flora, fauna and domestic animals.

During the searches, investigators found more than 14 kilos of cocaine, two indoor greenhouses set up for the illicit cultivation of marijuana, 75 kilos of this substance, two handguns with ammunition, 16,000 euros in cash, a boat, four cars, two motorcycles, electronic devices and other items used for drug trafficking, such as precision scales and a compacting press used to package narcotics, among others.

In addition, during this phase of exploitation, illegal connections to the electrical grid were detected, along with nearly one hundred roosters – most of them with mutilated combs – and a spur-thighed tortoise (Testudo Graeca), a protected species that requires authorization for its possession.
