February 27, 2026. Customs Surveillance of the Tax Agency and the Civil Guard, within the framework of operation 'Lomac', have arrested three men and dismantled an organized group dedicated to the intensive cultivation of marijuana in the La Garganta industrial estate in the town of Crevillente (Alicante).
The investigation began in late 2025, when agents from the Investigation Area of the Civil Guard Post of Crevillente detected the possible existence of a marijuana cultivation in the area, located in an industrial building that, despite not having declared work activity, registered a constant flow of people and vehicles.
From that moment on, surveillance of the property and the people who frequented it was intensified, in a coordinated operation between the Combined Unit of Alicante of Customs Surveillance of the Tax Agency and the Crevillente Investigation Area and the Organized Crime and Anti-Drug Team (Edoa) of the Alicante Command of the Civil Guard.
Finally, with the support of the Crevillente Local Police, the investigators proceeded to carry out the operation, arresting the three alleged perpetrators when they were inside the warehouse and searching the warehouse, in which three rooms equipped for the cultivation of marijuana were located, with a total of 1,200 plants in an advanced state of development, as well as a room intended as housing for the detainees.
It was also found that they had an illegal connection to the electrical grid, which would have generated a fraud of more than 50,000 euros.
The detainees, three men aged 22, 25 and 27, who are charged with drug trafficking, electricity fraud and belonging to an organized group, have been placed at the disposal of the Duty Magistrate's Court of Elche, which has ordered their provisional imprisonment.
