A drug dealing point disguised as a CBD shop has been dismantled in Burgos.

  • The operation resulted in the seizure of 23 kilos of hashish and marijuana.

  • The seized narcotic substance would have reached a value of over 150,000 euros on the illicit market.

  • The person in charge of the business has been arrested and brought before the courts.

July 8, 2026. Customs Surveillance officials from the Tax Agency in Burgos, in a joint operation with agents from the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police of the Civil Guard Command of Álava, have dismantled an active point of sale and distribution of narcotic substances that operated under the appearance of a legal establishment of CBD products in the historic center of the capital of Burgos. As a result of the operation, the owner and manager of the premises have been arrested.

Interception of an international postal shipment

The investigation began on May 8, when agents detected a suspicious postal package from the Czech Republic destined for Burgos. After an initial inspection, it was found that the shipment contained just over seven kilos of a substance that, due to its characteristics, could be narcotic material.

Given these facts, the Vitoria-Gasteiz Court of Instruction, acting as duty court, was immediately asked for authorization to proceed with the controlled delivery of the package, in order to identify the final recipients of the merchandise.

Inspection of the establishment and arrest

Once the court order was authorized, the investigators tracked the shipment, which ended up in a store specializing in CBD products located in the historic center of Burgos.

After the package was delivered, officers from Customs Surveillance and the Civil Guard entered the premises to carry out an administrative and tax inspection. During the search of the premises, the agents found another 16 kilos of narcotic substances (marijuana and hashish) hidden, ready for immediate retail distribution in the town.

Balance and judicial availability

In total, the security forces have seized 23 kilos of drugs, whose value on the illicit market would have reached more than 150,000 euros. Samples of the seized goods were sent to the Health Area of the Government Sub-delegation in Burgos for their corresponding scientific-sanitary analysis, which yielded a positive result for prohibited substances.

With this operation, a major hashish and marijuana trafficking point that used a legal business as a front to mask its criminal activity has been dismantled.

The detainee, along with the police proceedings and the seized items, has been placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction No. 3 of Burgos, in charge of the case.
