June 11, 2026. Customs Surveillance officials from the Tax Agency, in a joint operation with agents from the National Police Station of Astorga and the local police of the same town, have carried out an operation in four clothing stalls at the Astorga market that has culminated in the seizure of a ton of counterfeit clothing and the arrest of five people as alleged perpetrators of a crime against industrial property and others related to smuggling.

In the field of investigations into crimes against industrial property and smuggling, various inspections and controls have been carried out for months in different textile stalls located in the Astorga market and which sometimes operated in other nearby towns. Various complaints and surveillance prior to the operation served to prove the sale of counterfeit clothing at several stalls in the market.

During these actions, reports were drawn up and the vendors who ran the various stalls, where clothing items such as sweatshirts, pants and t-shirts were offered, were identified.

The entire operation of the so-called 'Bastion' has followed the protocol and guidelines established by the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency in order to be able to reliably verify whether the activity being carried out consisted of the marketing of counterfeit products.
