June 12, 2026. Customs Surveillance officials from the Tax Agency and agents of the National Police have dismantled an 'indoor' type marijuana plantation located in a house in the town of Molina de Segura and have proceeded to arrest four people as alleged those responsible for its cultivation and maintenance. In addition, they seized 29 kilos of marijuana buds, 155 plants and numerous pieces of equipment used for this type of cultivation.
Following the relevant preliminary investigations, the agents carried out a search of a property in the Murcian town of Molina de Segura, where a marijuana plantation was discovered, which led to the arrest of four people, three men and one woman, as those responsible for the cultivation and maintenance of the plantation. Inside the building, several rooms were found that had been modified to house the plantation, which had lighting, ventilation, air conditioning and odor filtration systems.
In total, 29 kilos of marijuana buds in the process of drying for distribution were seized, along with 155 plants, 106 LED lights with five light guides, humidifiers, 23 fans, 17 carbon filters, various air conditioning units, a plant peeling machine, 19 extractors, and a vehicle.
The illicit activity generated significant alarm among the residents of the area due to the movement of consumers of this type of narcotic substance and a significant feeling of insecurity, noise, unsanitary conditions and strong odors, in addition to the imminent risk of fire generated by the fraudulent connections to the electrical grid.
Likewise, the presence and collaboration of operators from the energy supply company was necessary to eliminate the risk of fire and disconnect the electrical connections, which did not have the necessary safety measures.
Finally, the detainees, who are charged with crimes against public health and electricity fraud, were placed at the disposal of the judicial authority for the adoption of the appropriate precautionary measures.
The operation was made up of Customs Surveillance officials from the Tax Agency in Murcia, different units belonging to the Superior Headquarters of the Region of Murcia, Provincial Brigade of Judicial Police, Prevention and Reaction Unit, Scientific Police, Operational Support Group, as well as the Central Unit of Drugs and Organized Crime from Madrid.
