16 kilos of cocaine seized at the port of Alcudia

A 26-year-old man has been arrested as the suspected perpetrator of a drug trafficking offense.
June 30, 2026. Customs Surveillance of the Tax Agency and the Civil Guard have seized 16 kilos of cocaine in the port of Alcudia. The cocaine was hidden in a false bottom of a vehicle driven by a foreigner of Moroccan origin, who was traveling on the regular line ship between Barcelona and Alcudia. The driver has been arrested as the suspected perpetrator of a drug trafficking offense.
As part of the so-called 'Tebal' operation, on the morning of Sunday, June 28, an intensive and random fiscal verification point was carried out within the customs area on the occasion of the disembarkation of the regular line ship with route Barcelona-Alcudia, at the commercial dock.
Once the ship was docked, the verification and inspection of the vehicles that were getting off it was carried out. At that moment, the inspection of both the exterior and interior of a vehicle began, carried out by investigators and a drug-detecting dog. Once inside, the dog from the Canine Service showed marked interest in a specific area of the vehicle, and the officers proceeded to conduct a manual inspection. Hidden in a false bottom, the agents found 16 tablets with different logos. In addition, 2,788 euros were seized. The estimated retail value of the drugs would be over 950,000 euros.
The agents proceeded to check the substance using chemical detectors, with a positive result for cocaine.
Therefore, the investigators proceeded to arrest the driver of the vehicle as the alleged perpetrator of a drug trafficking offense, who has already been placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.
The operation was carried out by Customs Surveillance officials of the Tax Agency in the Balearic Islands and agents of the Civil Guard belonging to the Udaiff of the port of Palma de Mallorca, Usesic (Security Unit of the Palma Command), assisted by a canine guide.
