May 11, 2026. Customs Surveillance officials from the Tax Agency in Seville, in a joint operation with agents of the National Police, have dismantled six 'indoor' marijuana farms in the town of Dos Hermanas (Seville) and have arrested four people related to the events.
The investigation stems from several reports received, which indicated that marijuana was being cultivated in several homes in a neighborhood of Dos Hermanas. Some of these homes were properties occupied by residents who had no known job and who lived off the income derived from this illegal activity. Others had been exclusively designated for the cultivation of marijuana, with the plantation occupying the entirety of the properties.
As a result of the investigation and surveillance efforts carried out jointly by both bodies, the investigators were able to determine the existence of several 'indoor' marijuana crops allegedly intended for distribution.
As a result, seven searches were carried out, four people were arrested, and 1,000 marijuana plants, weighing approximately 300 kilos, were seized. In addition, the electrical equipment involved in this type of plantation was disabled, preventing the risk of fire. The properties were fraudulently connected to the general electricity supply to maximize the profits obtained from the illicit activity.
The operation is still ongoing and further arrests are not ruled out.
