600 counterfeit garments and 66 doses of marijuana, hashish, amphetamines and 'speed' seized in Cáceres

At several access checkpoints to the city of Cáceres, set up for two music festivals, 24 people have been recommended for sanctions for drug and alcohol consumption in public, possession of bladed weapons, and tobacco smuggling, among other offenses.

Customs Surveillance officials from the Tax Agency in Extremadura, together with the Provincial Brigades of Citizen Security and Judicial Police (Narcotics Group) of the National Police of Cáceres and the Local Police of Cáceres, carried out two surveillance, control and monitoring operations on April 30 and May 7 at the main access points to the city of Cáceres, on the occasion of the celebration of two music festivals, in which 600 allegedly counterfeit garments and 52 doses of marijuana and hashish, 14 amphetamine pills and five doses of 'speed' powder were seized.
24 people have been proposed for sanctions for various violations of the Citizen Security Law, such as drug and alcohol consumption in public, possession of bladed weapons and tobacco smuggling. In addition, 8,000 euros, allegedly from drug dealing, have been seized.
The operation took place on April 30 and May 7 with the aim of detecting the possession and trafficking of drugs and narcotics, tobacco and other contraband products, and carrying out alcohol and drug use tests on the users of vehicles traveling on public roads.
During the two operations, 24 people were investigated for various offenses such as drug and alcohol use in public, possession of bladed weapons and tobacco smuggling.
In the operation, 600 garments (t-shirts and sneakers) were seized as a precautionary measure, which allegedly infringe the industrial property rights of their owners. The people associated with these garments fled, abandoning the goods that had been seized as a precautionary measure.
In addition, 52 doses of marijuana and hashish, 14 doses of amphetamine pills, five doses of 'speed' powder and 8,000 euros in cash, allegedly from drug dealing, were seized.
The operation resulted in nine administrative infraction reports for possession and/or consumption of drugs and narcotics in public, four administrative infraction reports for possession of bladed weapons, one report for administrative infraction of tobacco smuggling, five administrative infractions for positive drug tests in vehicle drivers and one administrative infraction for positive alcohol test in vehicle driver.
The operation was carried out by the Cáceres Operational Unit of the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency, the Provincial Brigades of Citizen Security and Judicial Police (Narcotics Group) of the Cáceres Police Station of the National Police and the Local Police of Cáceres.
