The afterlife of fiscal data

The Crónica Tributaria Tax Blog publishes a weekly entry on different aspects of taxation. On Wednesday 25 January an entry written by Rafael Frutos Vivar, Deputy Director General for Budgeting and Monitoring of Tax Revenues of the Tax Studies and Statistics Service of the Tax Agency, was published under the title La otra vida de los datos fiscales.

In the entry, the author refers to the tax data that, year after year, the Tax Agency makes available to the public to facilitate the filing of our income tax return and highlights the value of the information system that, over the last thirty years, the Tax Agency has been consolidating, which is based on two pillars:self-assessment forms and third-party information forms.

Tax data not only facilitate tax administration, but are also useful for other possibilities in the field of public statistics as explained by the author.
