October 24, 2008 . Isaac el Badaoui, in the sixth year of primary school at CEIP Práctiques I in Lleida, Diego Araiz, in the fifth year of primary school at the 'José María Mir' Public School in Zaragoza, Indira Bernal, in the fifth year of primary school at the 'José María Párraga' School in Murcia and Carmen Millá, second year of ESO at the 'Cap de L'horta' Institute in Alicante, are the schoolchildren awarded the first national prizes in the first national writing contest: 'Letter to a fraudster'.

The prizes are awarded by the director of the Tax Agency, Luis Pedroche, at a ceremony at the Tax Agency's headquarters, which will be attended by the families and teachers of the prize-winning schoolchildren.

The object of the Tax Agency's first national essay contest was to write a letter to an alleged fraudster, and the winners were chosen from among the 52 winning provincial essays. The contest is part of the Civic-Tax Education Programme that the Tax Agency has been developing since 2003.

Writing is one of the activities that the schoolchildren have carried out following the talks held during the Open Days at the Tax Agency and the visits by Agency officials to schools in the province. In these talks we work on civic-tax contents with the aim of reinforcing among the youngest citizens the fiscal responsibility that will help them to incorporate to their role as taxpayers with a clear conscience of what is a civic and solidary behaviour in a democratic society.

Attached to the Press Release, a copy of the award-winning editorial offices is distributed to interested media.

The event will be held in the auditorium of the Tax Agency's headquarters at Calle San Enrique, 17, Madrid. During the event the schoolchildren will read the winning essays.

Time: 1:30 p.m.

The event is open to the media.
