It has already been returned to 96.4% of the taxpayers who requested it, while the amount paid is 94.4% of the amount requested.

The Tax Agency has returned -up to December 29- 12.156 million Euros to more than fifteen million taxpayers corresponding to the liquidation of the 2008 tax year of the Personal Income Tax (IRPF). The amount of returns represents 94.3% of the total requested, and the number of returns represents 96.3% of those requested.

Compared to the same period last year, the amount has increased by 8.4%, which in 2008 was 11.212 billion euros, and the number of taxpayers has increased by 8.4%, which in 2008 was 14 million.

During the 2008 Personal Income Tax campaign, 19.4 million Personal Income Tax returns were filed, 3.6% more than the previous year. Of these, 6.9 million were submitted online, 22% more than the previous year.
