It has already been returned to 96.4% of the taxpayers who requested it, while the amount paid is 94.4% of the requested amount.

The Tax Agency has returned - until December 29 - 12,156 million euros to more than fifteen million taxpayers corresponding to the settlement of the 2008 financial year of the Personal Income Tax (IRPF). The amount of refunds represents 94.3% of the total requested, and the number of refunds represents 96.3% of those requested.

Compared to last year at the same time, the increase is 8.4% in the amount, which in 2008 was 11,212 million euros, and 8.4% in the number of taxpayers, which in 2008 was 14 million.

During the 2008 personal income tax campaign, 19.4 million personal income tax returns were filed, 3.6% more than the previous year. Of which 6.9 million were submitted online, 22% more than the previous year.
