The Tax Agency seizes 3,200 kilograms of hashish in the port of Los Urrutias, Murcia

Four people have been arrested in the operation. The seized drugs would have a market price of more than 4 million euros

The Tax Agency seized 3,200 kilograms of hashish in Murcia as a result of an operation that began on 16 November when Customs Surveillance officials were informed that a pleasure boat could have introduced a cache of drugs in the Mar Menor.

That same day several people were detected loading packages onto a lorry from a pleasure boat in the Port of Los Urrutias. The organised operation led to the interception of the lorry carrying the drugs, an all-terrain vehicle escorting the transport and the boat used to smuggle the drugs, a motorboat with a length of 9 metres and a beam of 3.5 metres. In addition, it was possible to arrest the three people who were involved in loading the drugs, as well as a fourth person related to the case.

The hashish was distributed in 100 bales of burlap weighing 3,200 kilograms. The drugs would have a market price of more than 4 million euros

The drugs seized, the persons arrested and the vehicles seized have been placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction of Cartagena on duty. Investigations are continuing and further arrests are not ruled out in the coming hours.
