The Tax Agency warns of an Internet fraud attempt using its name
The scam concerns a non-existent tax refund
The Tax Agency has detected a large number of email communications in which your name and image are fraudulently used, and which are supposedly sent from the following address: aeat@restitucion.es.
The email refers to a non-existent tax refund, which benefits the recipient of the email. In order to access the money, you must access a web address where you must provide bank account details.
The Tax Agency has taken the necessary measures to pursue this attempted fraud and reminds users that the best measure is to prevent suspicious communications that include requests for bank details. The Tax Agency never requests confidential information, such as account numbers or card numbers from taxpayers, by email.
