It aims to improve the relationship between the tax administration and taxpayers, both transparently and cooperatively.

The Tax Agency's general director, Juan Manuel López-Carbajo, has today presided over the setting up of the forum for professional tax associations and colleges, which has been created to improve the relationship between the tax administration and taxpayers, based on transparency and cooperation. At this first meeting, the forum's working regulations were approved and a work group was set up on " Fostering social collaboration in tax application ".

The forum's objectives are to increase legal certainty of taxpayers, deepen mutual knowledge within a framework of transparency and thoroughness, and divulge the novelties and criteria of the Tax Agency's work.

It also aims to improve implementation of the tax system by reducing tax burdens and promoting the use of electronic administration (e-Government). Of particular importance is the emphasis on improving the prevention and fight against fraud in a collaborative manner, seeking solutions to fraudulent practices in different economic sectors, as well as promoting social rejection of tax fraud.

The conclusions and results of the forum will be published on the Tax Agency's website. On behalf of the tax administration, the different departmental directors also form part of the forum.
