January 4, 2016.- The Tax Agency has already completed 96.5% of the refunds corresponding to the 2014 Income Tax Campaign, so that, at the end of last year, more than 13,955,000 taxpayers of Personal Income Tax (IRPF) had obtained their refund, for a total amount of 9,886 million euros, 93.2% of the total. Both in terms of the number of declarations and the amount, the returns maintain the level of progress of the previous campaign.

The total number of declarations submitted, just over 19,417,000, confirms the first increase in the number of personal income tax filers (0.85%) in the last three Income Tax campaigns.

Of this total number of declarations, more than three quarters, 75.6%, have been submitted online, a channel used by 14.6 million taxpayers, 700,000 more than the previous year, when there was already a strong increase in electronic filing following the improvements incorporated into the PADRE program to strengthen its usability and speed up filing.

After the possibility of filing returns with the PADRE program was opened from the first day of the campaign, this last year there has been a significant increase, by more than 864,000, in the number of filings with this assistance program and equivalents, with the volume of filing drafts of personal income tax being reduced by a similar amount. This year, almost 60% of the filed returns are returns prepared with PADRE and similar assistance services, and 40% are confirmed drafts.

In turn, the increase recorded in the number of IRPF tax returns submitted online (5%) is concentrated in the declarations made with the different existing aid programmes and with the tax data provided by the Tax Agency, with a growth of 8.6%, compared to the continued submission of draft returns online.

During the 2014 Income Tax Campaign, the Tax Agency has made available to citizens almost 23.6 million drafts and tax data, has processed more than 15.4 million REN0 reference numbers and the 'Code PIN' has been used on more than 1.5 million occasions, either for processing requests for drafts and tax data, or for the actual filing of declarations.
