The Tax Agency has returned more than 9,600 million euros at the end of the year to 13,534,000 taxpayers

Income Campaign 2021

97.5% of the requested refunds have already been made and 94.9% of the amounts corresponding to those requests have been paid
Of the 22,146,000 declarations presented, more than 1,076,000 were made through the telephone service ('Le Llamamos' plan), the main means of personalized assistance in the Income Campaign, to which are added the more than 649,000 declarations prepared in The offices
The commitment to personalized assistance, both by telephone and in offices, has allowed the presentation by both means of 1,725,000 declarations, 250,000 more than two years ago
The rest of the declarations, those presented online both through the Agency's website and through the 'app', continue to represent more than 90% of the total.

January 4, 2023.- The Tax Agency has already returned 9,671 million euros to 13,534,000 taxpayers of the 2021 Personal Income Tax (IRPF 2021), so that, as of December 30, 97.5% of the number of refunds requested have been made and 94.9% of the corresponding requested amounts have been paid.

In accordance with expectations, the Agency has received a slightly higher number of declarations this year (+1.9%), reaching the figure of 22,146,000, although, and in line with the latest estimates made, the declarations with balance to be deposited grew significantly, while those with results to be returned decreased.

At the end of the campaign, 62.7% of the declarations have been submitted with a request for refund, exceeding 13,883,000 (-2.1%). In turn, 6,696,000 have given a result to enter (+10.5%).

Bet on personalized assistance

Again in this latest campaign, the Tax Agency designed a reinforced plan for telephone assistance in filing, the 'We Call You' plan, to cover the needs of taxpayers without having to wait for the opening of assistance in offices and, in In any case, also to avoid unnecessary travel.

At the end of the campaign, 'Le Llamamos' is consolidated as the main non-face-to-face alternative to the Agency's website to present the declaration. This telephone filing method has been used by 1,076,000 taxpayers, 6.6% less than last year, in which a record number of filings were made through this method. In any case, the declarations presented through the 'Le Llamamos' plan in this campaign represent 62.4% of all presentations with personalized assistance.

On the other hand, the level of presentation in the offices has increased significantly, with more than 649,000 declarations, 23.1% more than the previous year, in a context of improvement in the health situation. Altogether, the commitment to personalized assistance, both by telephone and in offices, has allowed 1,725,000 declarations to be submitted in both ways, 250,000 more than two years ago.

In any case, the vast majority of taxpayers, more than 92% of the total, continue to file their returns online. This year, 20,420,000 presentations were made online (+1.9%), of which 19,992,000 were made through the Agency's website, 1.8% more than a year ago. The rest correspond to the 428,100 declarations presented through the Agency's mobile application, 3.5% more than the previous year; of them, 303,700 are 'one-click' submissions (+8.8%) and the rest correspond to taxpayers who have been referred to the website by the application to make some modification and who have returned to the 'app' to complete the presentation.
