2,200 kilos of hashish seized in a drug house in the province of Seville

Joint operation of the Tax Agency and the National Police

  • Four people have been arrested in an operation that has also led to the intervention of two marijuana plantations, two shotguns and abundant ammunition

October 11, 2023.- The Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency, in a joint operation with the National Police, has seized 2,200 kilos of hashish in a 'daycare' located in a district of Las Cabezas de San Juan (Seville), which served as a logistics point for the reception of drugs that the organizations transported up the Guadalquivir River.

In addition, four people have been arrested for their alleged participation in drug trafficking crimes and illegal possession of weapons.

The investigation began at the beginning of summer, when the agents detected suspicious movements near the Guadalquivir, near the Sevillian municipality.

As a result of the investigations carried out, several individuals were identified in charge of collecting large consignments of hashish in various stash areas of the river and subsequently storing them in a country house far from the urban center, which made the police investigation difficult.

After carrying out the first investigations, carried out last September, the criminal organization's facilities were entered and searched, resulting in the seizure of 2,200 kilos of hashish, two marijuana plantations with large varieties and two shotguns with plenty of ammunition. Likewise, four individuals were arrested.

All the seized effects and the detained people were placed at the disposal of the Investigative Court No. 2 of Lebrija, which has directed the investigation, and new arrests have not been ruled out.

The operation has been carried out by agents from the Seville Operational Unit of the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency and the Dos Hermanas National Police.
