The operation began in 2024, when the first investigations into this criminal group began. During the investigation phase, in September of this year, the entry of a shipment of more than a ton of hashish was neutralized through a beach in the municipality of Adra (Almería), which resulted in the arrest of four people (of whom three were imprisoned) and the seizure of a handgun and a vehicle.

Last Tuesday, the Customs Surveillance Service in Almería and the Organic Unit of Judicial Police (UOPJ) of the Civil Guard Command of Almería carried out the operation. Almost simultaneously, and during the course of the 30 searches carried out, a submachine gun, nine handguns, two long guns, a taser gun, a bulletproof vest, nearly 100,000 euros in cash, numerous watches and jewelry, 150 Christmas lottery tickets, 20 kilos of cocaine, 35 kilos of hashish and 13 kilos of marijuana, money counting machines, precision scales, a large amount of technological material and numerous documents related to money laundering operations were seized.

Likewise, nearly one hundred vehicles and boats valued at almost one million euros have been seized, along with several properties worth more than six million euros (three agricultural holdings, two recreational properties, an industrial building, a luxury villa, five commercial premises, two duplex homes and 12 other urban and agricultural properties), six commercial companies in the agricultural, hospitality and commercial sectors, and numerous bank accounts have been blocked by court order.

For the development of this operation, a significant number of material and human resources have been deployed, since in addition to the investigators from Customs Surveillance and the Civil Guard of the province of Almería, the support of the Customs Surveillance Units of Granada, Motril and Málaga, the Rapid Action Group of the Civil Guard, the Reserve and Security Group (GRS), a helicopter from Customs Surveillance and another from the Civil Guard, the Canine Service and the Citizen Security Unit of the Civil Guard has been used, adding up to a total of more than 100 personnel from both institutions.

Both the detainees and the seized goods and effects have been placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority, and further arrests are not ruled out in the coming days, as the investigation remains open in order to analyze all the seized material.
