5.75. Video surveillance of customs facilities
Description of the activity
Recording and processing of images for tax and customs control, prevention of smuggling and security and surveillance of staff and travelers, as well as the facilities and means, equipment or goods of all types found therein.
Purpose
Effective application of the state tax and customs system.
To guarantee the safety of people, goods and facilities.
Legitimation
The AEAT, by law, is entrusted with the effective application of the state tax and customs system. Therefore, the treatments carried out in compliance with said obligations are legitimized, in accordance with the requirements demanded by EU Regulation 2016/679.
Furthermore, article 6.1.e of EU Regulation 2016/679 establishes that personal data may be processed when “the processing is necessary for the fulfillment of a mission carried out in the public interest…” . In this way, the purpose of video surveillance is to guarantee the security of people, property and facilities; the public interest legitimizes such treatment.
