Transaction value. Taxable base
- The taxable base for calculating customs duties or tariffs is the customs value of the goods to be imported.
- The customs value is generally calculated on the transaction value of the goods. This value may be subject to adjustments, upwards or downwards, depending on the delivery conditions, links, fees, etc.
- The tax base for VAT is as follows:
- The customs value, determined pursuant to the customs regulations, is added to the customs duties calculated as set out in the previous section, plus all taxes applicable to the imported product.
Once the tax base of VAT has been calculated, the corresponding tax rate is applied, determining the VAT quota.
