Access path to procedures
Depending on the procedure of the electronic office you access, you can choose between the different identification systems available.
-
Certificate or electronic DNI
The electronic certificate is an electronic signature installed in the browser to guarantee identity and allows you to perform tasks without having to travel, such as accessing tax information, filing your tax return online, making payments, or requesting certifications directly through the Tax Agency website.
The digital signature that includes the DNIe will allow you to carry out the same procedures as other types of electronic certificates, provided that the certificate has not expired.
For more information about the electronic certificate and the DNIe consult the help on "Electronic certificates" and " DNI electronic ( DNIe )".
-
Cl@ve Mobile
It is an identification system that allows you to carry out procedures online based on agreed codes; specifically from the APP Cl@ve by scanning the QR code when selecting this access method, providing ID card either NIE and the requested verification data, confirming authentication also from the app or by requesting the access PIN be sent via SMS if you don't have the app installed.
There are a large number of procedures that allow access through Cl@ve: Filing information returns, quarterly and monthly self-assessments (if you are not required to use an electronic certificate), consulting, modifying and confirming the draft income tax return, as well as filing the annual tax return IRPFABBR, the request for tax certificates, the request for advance payment for large families, ascendants with two children or disabled dependents, etc.
In the section "Cl@ve - Technical Help" you will find all the related information.
-
Reference number
This identification option is enabled for the different Income services available for each campaign. This reference is valid for carrying out many income tax procedures online, from requesting an appointment to obtaining your tax return through the Renta WEB system and submitting your return. IRPFABBR, provided that they result in a refund or a payment by direct debit, card or Bizum.
The information that will be requested to obtain the Income reference will be the box 505 of the 2024 Income Tax return, in addition to the validity/issuance date of the ID card or the support number of NIE. See the help "How to obtain the reference of your Income Tax file with a box".

eIDAS - Access for EU citizens
The EU Citizen Authentication System ( eIDAS ) allows citizens of one European Union country to use their national electronic ID to access public services in other member countries.
Currently, to access the services of the State Tax Administration Agency through the eIDAS system, the EU citizen is required to have an identifier such as a DNI (National Identity Document), a NIE (Foreigner Identification Number) or a NIF L or NIF M (Tax Identification Number). This means that, although you can use your electronic ID from another EU country, you first need to have one of these Spanish identifiers to carry out procedures at the AEAT electronic headquarters.
-
TOKEN
It is a temporary numerical code necessary to act on your own behalf or on behalf of third parties through the telephone channel. It is essential to have an electronic certificate to obtain the TOKEN, which will be valid for 1 hour from the date it is obtained.

Other identification systems
There are alternatives to the systems described above for specific procedures; for example, consulting electronic documents and downloading files using CSV (Secure Verification Code).
