II.4.2.4. Verification of the conditions applicable to regular maritime service

Customs authorities may require the shipping company to provide evidence of compliance with the provisions relating to the operation of regular maritime services, namely that the service is operated on the basis of information registered with the competent customs authorities and that it calls exclusively at registered ports of call.

Where a customs authority determines that the provisions of the regular maritime service have not been complied with, it shall immediately inform, through the Customs Decision System, the customs authorities of other Member States where the regular maritime service is operated so that they can take appropriate measures.
