Chapter 2. General instructions regarding the single administrative document and the transit accompanying document

Article 3, letters d) and v) of Appendix I to the Convention
Article 5, paragraph 12, and Article 6, paragraph 3, letter b), of the UCC

Part V deals with the business continuity procedure based on the use of the single administrative document (SAD) or the transit accompanying document (TAD) as transit declarations in paper format. It is divided into six chapters:

Chapter 3 deals with the ordinary transit declaration procedure.

Chapter 4 describes the procedures at the customs office of departure.

Chapter 5 deals with incidents during transport.

Chapter 6 describes the procedures at the destination customs office.

Note:
It should be noted that the expression "transit declaration" has two meanings. Firstly, a "transit declaration" is understood to be the declaration by which a person expresses, in due form and in accordance with established procedures, his or her intention to place goods under the transit regime. Secondly, this is the document used as a transit declaration, i.e., the required "copies of the SAD or DAT." In the following chapters, the expression "transit declaration" will be used in its original meaning, and the required form will be the "SAD" or the "DAT".
