NIF Natural person
Find out how to apply for the NIF if you are a natural person, regardless of your nationality or residence.
If you are a natural person and you are going to carry out operations with tax implications, you must have a NIF which, in general, will coincide with your DNI or NIE.
If you do not have a DNI or NIE and you are going to carry out operations with tax implications, you can request the Tax Agency to assign you a NIF.
In particular, must obtain a NIF:
-
Spaniards living abroad, although they are not required to have a DNI.
-
Spaniards under 14 years of age, although they are not required to have an ID.
-
Foreign nationals , who do not have a NIE, either temporarily because they are required to have one, or permanently because they are not required to do so, must request the Tax Authority to assign them a NIF.
-
Foreign investors who are going to invest in Spanish start-ups and do not reside in Spain.
