NIF Natural person
Find out how to request the NIF if you are a natural person, regardless of your nationality or residence.
If you are a natural person and you are going to carry out operations with tax significance, you must have a NIF that, in general, will coincide with your DNI or NIE.
If you do not have a DNI or NIE and you are going to carry out operations with tax significance, you can request the Tax Agency to assign a NIF.
In particular, must obtain a NIF:

Spaniards residing abroad, although they are not required to have a DNI.

Spaniards under 14 years of age, although they are not required to have a DNI.

Natural persons of foreign nationality , who do not have a NIE, temporarily because they are obliged to have it, or permanently because they are not obliged, must request the Tax Administration to assign a NIF.

Foreign investors who are going to invest in Spanish emerging companies and do not reside in Spain.
