Value-added rate
It is defined as the ratio between added value and production expressed as a percentage.
Personnel expenditure rate
It is defined as the ratio between personnel expenses and added value expressed as a percentage.
Gross operating margin
It is defined as the ratio between the gross operating profit and production expressed as a percentage.
For the group of SMEs with corporate status, according to EU criteria, this ratio is calculated as the quotient between the gross operating profit and the turnover.
Rate of economic return
It is defined as the ratio between the result before taxes and the production expressed as a percentage.
For the group of SMEs with corporate status, according to EU criteria, this ratio is calculated as the percentage that the economic profit or operating profit (before paying interest on debts, i.e., financial expenses) represents with the total invested capital (real assets). This ratio is also called return on investment. Real assets are calculated as total assets net of long-term and short-term provisions.
Failure rate
It is defined as the ratio between the number of companies with a negative or zero accounting result and the total number of companies expressed as a percentage.
Financial rate of return
Calculated solely for the group of corporate SMEs according to EU criteria. It is defined as the ratio between the result before taxes and net own resources expressed as a percentage.
