Annual Report 2012

3.2.9. Services to groups that require special attention: people with disabilities

Since 2004, a co-operation agreement has been in place involving the Tax Agency and the Spanish Committee of Representatives of People with Disabilities and ONCE (the National Organisation for the Blind). Under this agreement, the Tax Agency approves an Annual Assistance Plan for People with Disabilities in agreement with these bodies. The plan includes information and assistance activities, the accessibility of the Tax Agency's website and offices, educational activities geared towards raising the awareness of Tax Agency staff with respect to the needs of this group, etc.

In 2012 nearly all the targets set forth in the annual plan have been met, despite budgetary restrictions.

The following shows the current accessibility situation of Tax Agency premises:

Number of buildings open to the public 279
Access
Main entrance 217
Alternative entrance 26
Not adapted 36
Toilet facilities 122
Lifts 97

Buildings now have an accessibility level of 93% (84% main entrances + 9% alternative entrances).

With regard to lifts, it is important to note that many buildings (for administrative use) are single-storey structures and no lift is required.

Buildings with adapted toilets reach 58% of the total.
