Annual Report 2013

3.2.9. Groups that require special attention: people with disabilities

Since 2004, a co-operation agreement has been in place involving the Tax Agency and the Spanish Committee of Representatives of People with Disabilities and ONCE (the National Organisation for the Blind). Under this agreement, the Tax Agency approves an Annual Assistance Plan for People with Disabilities in agreement with these bodies. The plan includes information and assistance activities, the accessibility of the Tax Agency's website and offices, educational activities geared towards raising the awareness of Tax Agency staff with respect to the needs of this group, etc.

During the financial year 2013, almost all whole of the forecasts included in the Annual Plan have been fulfilled, in spite of the budgetary limitations.

The following shows the current accessibility situation of Tax Agency premises:

Number of buildings open to the public

267

Access

Main entrance

229

Alternative entrance

23

Not adapted

15

Toilet facilities

167

Lifts

127

Buildings now have an accessibility level of 94% (85% main entrances + 9% alternative entrances).

The buildings with adapted toilets reach 62 per cent of the total.

With regard to lifts, it is important to note that many buildings (for administrative use) are single-storey structures and no lift is required.
