4.1.3. Assistance to people with disabilities and the elderly

With the aim of ensuring that the information and assistance work provided by the Tax Agency reaches all taxpayers, it has been considered necessary to focus attention on certain groups that may have more difficulties in accessing it. Thus, on December 19, 2022, the Tax Agency signed a protocol with the Seniors and Pensioners Platform that aims to establish basic guidelines to facilitate assistance to older people, promoting actions that ensure complete and updated information regarding to their rights, as well as the provision of the necessary support and advice in compliance with their tax obligations.

Likewise, the Tax Agency has signed, since 2004, a collaboration agreement with the Spanish Committee of Representatives of People with Disabilities (CERMI) and with the ONCE Foundation. Under this agreement, the Tax Agency approves an Annual Assistance Plan for People with Disabilities in agreement with these bodies. The plan includes information and assistance activities, the accessibility of the Tax Agency's website and offices, educational activities geared towards raising the awareness of Tax Agency staff with respect to the needs of this group, etc. During 2022, practically all of the forecasts included in the Annual Plan have been met.

Furthermore, in 2022, the demand for statistical information from the Associations that signed the Agreement has continued to be met, with the statistical publication referring to the 2020 personal income tax data for all people with disabilities . The Tax Agency's commitment in relation to this group is to maintain this publication in future periods, increasing the series of statistical publications based on taxes that are accessible on the Tax Agency's website.
