The Tax Agency is strengthening its collaboration in training with a new edition of the course-internship on economic crime, which was held on 15, 16 and 17 November in Madrid. This event was aimed at members of the public prosecutor's office specialising in economic crime.

The inauguration of the course was attended by the general director of the Tax Agency, Soledad Fernández Doctor, the state attorney general, Álvaro García Ortiz, and the special delegate of the Tax Agency in Madrid, Consuelo Sánchez.

All of them highlighted the relevance of the Training Agreement between the FGE and the AEAT signed this year and put the value of the course content, highlighting the importance of the role of both the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Tax Administration in the investigation, prosecution and, when necessary, prosecution of economic crimes, from different procedural positions, but with a common interest and evident responsibility.

During the sessions, the description of the administrative inspection and collection procedures was delved into, as well as the customs procedure and customs regulations of the EU . Current topics of great relevance were also addressed, such as the electronic relationship between the Tax Agency and the taxpayer, the legal challenges linked to the use of artificial intelligence by the Tax Administration and the organization's internal security policies and systems.

The main challenges encountered in the processing of files and the opportunities for collaboration with Courts and Tribunals were also highlighted, which could generate substantial improvements in the results obtained in the prosecution of these crimes.

The course was closed by the general director of the Tax Agency.
