• Five people arrested for their alleged involvement in drug trafficking

• More than 12 kilos of cocaine, firearms and around 20,000 euros in cash have been seized.

The Customs Surveillance Service's Operational Unit in Seville, in a joint operation with the National Police, has dismantled a cocaine laboratory in the Seville area and broken up a highly active criminal organization dedicated to cocaine trafficking. The operation resulted in the arrest of five people for their alleged involvement in drug trafficking and the seizure of 12 kilos of cocaine.

The investigation stems from several reports received that referred to the involvement of certain individuals in medium-scale drug trafficking activities.

Investigators from both agencies launched an operation that confirmed the existence of an organized group that took strong security measures to carry out criminal activity.

According to the investigations carried out, the organization acquired batches of cocaine, adulterated them with other substances and proceeded to distribute them to third parties, both in 'pill' format and in the modality known as 'telecoca'.

The organization had three locations (two in Alcalá de Guadaíra and one in Dos Hermanas) which it used as a laboratory, drug storage facility and for the distribution of small quantities of narcotics.

Once all members of the organization were identified and their roles determined, three house searches were authorized by the Court of Instruction No. 4 of Alcalá de Guadaíra. The searches resulted in the seizure of more than 12 kilos of cocaine, a large quantity of cutting agents, three long guns and four short firearms, various ammunition, a machete and around 20,000 euros in cash.

The seized items and the detainees, who are charged with drug trafficking, belonging to a criminal group and money laundering, were placed at the disposal of the judicial authority, which ordered the imprisonment of the main suspects.
