July 29, 2026. Officials from the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency in Huelva and agents of the National Police and Civil Guard of Huelva, in a joint operation, have seized 1,000 kilos of hashish on a boat in Isla Cristina.

 The operation began when a boat was detected entering the Carreras River, which aroused the suspicions of the investigators. The officers were able to observe how the recreational vessel was visibly submerged at the bow and showed external signs of having been tied up to another vessel. At that time, a joint operation was established to control it.

 Thus, it was observed that the boat was heading towards the area known as Matapiojos, in Isla Cristina, where the investigators proceeded to conduct an inspection. At that moment, its two crew members jumped into the water trying to escape, aided by a jet ski, previously seen escorting the sports boat. The jet ski operator, after picking up one of the boat's crew members, tried to prevent the arrest of the second, performing dangerous maneuvers for the officers who were in the water trying to capture those who were fleeing. Finally, the jet ski's occupant fled after being unable to prevent the second pilot's arrest.

 The recreational vessel was then seized and taken to the Isla Cristina marina, where the 26 bales of hashish it was carrying in a false bottom were unloaded, weighing approximately 1,000 kilos.
