July 30, 2026. The Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency in Seville and the Civil Guard have jointly carried out two operations in the towns of Estepa and Osuna in which five indoor marijuana plantations have been dismantled and five people have been arrested.

First performance

The first operation was carried out in June, after receiving various reports that led Customs Surveillance and the Civil Guard to suspect the possible existence of several marijuana production and cultivation centers in the town of Estepa.

As a result of this information, the team established a permanent surveillance operation on the activity of three properties in the town. As a result of these devices, the investigators confirmed the initial suspicions, gathering the necessary evidence to carry out the corresponding entries and searches in the properties under investigation.

The searches resulted in the seizure of 2,652 cannabis plants in an advanced state of flowering and eight kilos of marijuana ready for distribution, as well as the necessary equipment for cutting, processing and cultivating the seized substances.

This initial investigation resulted in the arrest of three people, residents of Estepa, as alleged perpetrators of crimes against public health and electricity fraud.

Second joint action

Subsequently, at the beginning of July, the Customs Surveillance and Civil Guard investigators carried out a second operation in the town of Osuna.

The investigation began with information obtained from the analysis of various police leads regarding a property suspected of being used as an indoor marijuana growing operation.

The work of both bodies resulted in the full identification of the main suspect and person in charge of the production center, on whom permanent and discreet surveillance was established, which helped investigators locate another property with the same suspicions of being used for illicit cultivation.

As a result of this information, authorization was requested to enter both properties, where two hidden 'indoor' plantations were located. A total of 2,229 adult marijuana plants were seized there, and illegal connections to the electrical grid were detected.

This latest investigation resulted in the arrest of two residents of Osuna as alleged perpetrators of crimes against public health for cultivating narcotic substances and defrauding the electricity supply.

Both operations are part of the ongoing collaboration and joint services between the Seville Operational Unit of Customs Surveillance of the Tax Agency and the Territorial Unit of the Judicial Police of the Civil Guard of Osuna and have resulted in a total of five arrests, five dismantled plantations and the seizure of 4,881 marijuana plants and eight kilos of hashish.
