• The detainee had arrived in Mallorca on a flight from Belgium and was located after a joint operation set up at the airport

September 11, 2026 - The Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency, National Police and Civil Guard, in a joint investigation, have arrested a man of Nigerian origin who intended to enter Mallorca through the airport, as the alleged perpetrator of a drug trafficking offense, for carrying inside his body 109 pellets of cocaine that totaled more than one kilo of the drug.

The operation originated from information received through the respective central services of the three bodies, which alerted to the arrival in Mallorca of a traveler who was suspected of using his body to hide and transport drugs.

The passenger arrived during the night of September 6 on a flight from Charleroi airport (Belgium), at which point a joint operation was established to locate and identify him.

Once located, he was transferred to the official premises of the Passenger Customs at Palma airport, where, with his consent and with the legally established guarantees, a radiological examination was performed.

The test revealed the existence of numerous foreign bodies inside his body, consistent in their morphology and arrangement with wrappers intended for the intracorporeal transport of narcotic substances.

Given the test result, and taking into account both the needs of the investigation and the protection of his physical integrity, he was arrested and subsequently transferred to the Son Espases University Hospital, where he remained under police surveillance and health supervision to allow for the natural expulsion of the foreign bodies.

109 packages and more than 1.3 kilos of substance

The detainee, for whom the court has ordered provisional imprisonment, was carrying 109 packets or 'acorns', which contained a white rocky substance. The test performed confirmed that it was cocaine. The total weight of the packages yielded an approximate gross weight of 1,353 grams.

The operation constitutes a new joint action by Customs Surveillance, National Police, and Civil Guard within the framework of the prevention and prosecution of drug trafficking through the main entry points to the Balearic Islands.
