How to check a refund
View the status of your income tax refund
If the final result of your tax return was a refund, you can check the status of the refund you have requested.
The query is carried out by accessing your file through the Draft or Declaration Processing Service (Renta WEB).
As a general rule, the refund is made by bank transfer to the account given on the payment or refund document.
The Tax Agency has six months, from the end of the period for submitting the declarations, or from the date of submission if the declaration was submitted late, to make the refund or to initiate a verification procedure for the requested refund.
If the refund has not been ordered within 6 months due to a reason attributable to the Tax Administration, it will pay late payment interest from the day after the expiry of the 6-month period, without you needing to request it. Interest will be applied to the amount to be refunded finally agreed by the Administration, whether it is the amount requested or the amount resulting from a verification procedure.
